POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - Sparkling Wine: Two Catalonian Stories
Time & Location
About the Event
EVENT WILL BE POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO CONCERNS AROUND COVID-19. We will update with new event information when it is available. We encourage our guests to continue following the best practices as provided by the CDC and local health authorities.
A Mediterranean climate; a terroir that imparts a particular personality through its fossil-rich soil and a geological history that dates back 40 million years; two Catalonian families that together comprise more than 800 years of winemaking history: these are the elements of the stories you’ll hear as Núria Garrote-i-Esteve of Vinovi & Co. talks you through a fascinating sparkling wine tasting.
Learn the history of the Raventós family, who produce in the Conca del Riu Anoia, and their connection to winemaking that goes back 21 generations to 1497. Also explored will be the nearly 300-year-old VallDolina estate, whose vines are cultivated under the influence of the dry, mountainous landscape of the Massís del Garraf.
This event is part of the series, Through the Grapevine: Stories of Wine and Winemakers, presented by Brut Detroit and the Gross Pointe War Memorial. Experience wine through the power of storytelling. Núria Garrote i Esteve takes you through a series of narrative-driven wine tastings that will fill your heart, excite your palate and stir your imagination.
